Gregg Mervine (drums) plays all kinds of beats for all kinds of bands, including the anti-folk outfit Cheese on Bread, a jazz/poetry/spoken-word collaboration called The Playground, and his own roots/folk/art quartet (not yet named). He also teaches percussion at an area high school. He studied musical performance at the University of the Arts briefly before transferring to Temple University, from which he just graduated with a B.A. in philosophy. He lives in West Philadelphia, where he is involved in various community arts programs.
